The Pearl
A beautiful and historic township! The beautiful and historic township of Pieve di Cadore is situated in the Province of Belluno at the centre of the Cadore Valley and has been the most important town and administrative centre here in Roman times. The glorious past is still very much present here today, from the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore to the Archidiaconate Church. There are numerous historic buildings to visit and discover including the birth house of the great Renaissance painter Titian, whose common name was Tiziano Vecellio. The Museum of Archaeology and the museum of spectacles and eye glasses are remarkable and well worth a visit. Lovers of nature and sports will love the many parks, green areas and cycling tracks, a fine example is the one along the Via delle Dolomiti.
