The Pearl
The heart of the Dolomites - what an incredibly inviting prospect for a superb holiday! The delightful village of Collepietra has a beautiful location perched on a sunny mountain terrace 823 m above sea level at the centre of the superb Alpine region the Dolomites. The magnificent view from here extends across the Eisacktal valley, to the Ritten and with the finest the Dolomites have to offer to the east - the high peaks panorama of the Catinaccio and the Schlern. An extraordinarily attractive climate with plenty of sunshine and an untouched natural environment in one of the finest of all mountain regions make this a most delightful place for a holiday stay. Hikers, walkers, mountain bikers thrill to the sheer endless length, variety and beauty of the tracks to follow into the mountains around Collepietra. The only observatory and astronomical station in South Tyrol is to be found at Obergummer. The museum in Collepietra and the wonderful castle in neighbouring Cornedo are the spectacular centres of the cultural life in these two communities.

Stretch your legs - there is no feeling like it! Collepietra is so easy to get to with public transport: the train will take you straight to the provincial capital of South Tyrol. Service buses leave 12 times a day from Bolzano to Collepietra only 14 km away. More than this, your host will be happy to collect you from the railway station in Bolzano.

News 2007: A new mobility concept was launched in June 2007. Guests profit from an hourly connection from the main municipalities Nova Levante, Nova Ponente/Karerpass and Cornedo-Collepietra from and to Bolzano. In addition there is an excellent connection from St. Zyprian over Karerpass, Nova Ponente, Birchabruck, Eggen, Obereggen, Nova Levante, Petersberg to Weissenstein, running six times a day in both directions. Vigo di Fassa is connected in a 2- hour-interval. For the tourists in the Area of Catinaccio / Rosengarten - Latemar there is a special "Mobil- card" for the use of all busses for a period of seven days (8 EUR). Free for children up to 6 years, from 6 to 16 years 4 EUR. In addition, a 24-hour-call shuttle is at your disposal. 4 lifts are also at your disposal at the feet of the Catinaccio and Latemar Mountains.
Special soft mobility services
Relax to perfection far from the annoyances of traffic and mass tourism! Some 100 km of paths to walk in Collepietra alone and a further 600 km in the vicinity means you have simply unlimited fun and discovery ahead of you. Collepietra Tourism Association offers horse-drawn coach trips and guided walks to among many other points, the Collepietraer earth pyramids, to Cornedo Castle or South Tyrol's only observatory. Traditional events, concerts and entertainment are provided for lively social life in the evenings. The “Mobilcard” is your key to low price public transport in Collepietra, Bolzano and the surrounding region.
