The Pearl

The sunset in Nova Levante is a simply stunning experience - it is the hour when the mountain towering above the community, the Catinaccio, glows in superb tones of red. You are, of course, at the very centre of a magical world here, the land of Laurin the dwarf ruler. Each day here will renew your sense of just how thrilling, dramatic and interesting our world of nature can be. The Catinaccio can be ascended either on foot or in the lifts that start directly in Nova Levante. This splendid mountain is formed from prehistoric coral reefs. The Catinaccio provides unlimited opportunities to delight every hiker or climber - simply choose your scale of difficulty. The local forests are also a wonderful place to discover. The so-called Klangholz - or sounding wood - that grows in the Latemar Forest is truly magical. It is a unique timber from which fine violins are made. Make sure you don't miss the lake - the Care

Soft mobility connections

Easy to reach by public transport! The train takes you straight to Bolzano, the provincial capital of South Tyrol. From here the regular local bus service will bring you to your holiday destination. You will also profit from the friendliness of the South Tyrolese hosts, they are happy to pick up their guests at Bolzano station.

Soft mobility in the pearl

News 2007: A new mobility concept was launched in June 2007. Guests profit from an hourly connection from the main municipalities Nova Levante, Nova Ponente/Karer Pass and Cornedo-Collepietra from and to Bolzano. In addition there is an excellent connection from St. Zyprian over Karer Pass, Nova Ponente, Birchabruck, Eggen, Obereggen, Nova Levante, Petersberg to Weissenstein, running six times a day in both directions. Vigo di Fassa is connected in a 2- hour-interval. For the tourists in the Area of Catinaccio / Rosengarten - Latemar there is a special "Mobil- card" for the use of all busses for a period of seven days (10 EUR). Free for children up to 6 years, from 6 to 16 years 5 EUR. In addition, a 24-hour-call shuttle is at your disposal.

Special soft mobility services

Mountain biking, climbing or snowshoe walking - a perfect holiday experience! 3 riding schools in Nova Levante-Carezza, offering not only riding opportunities but also coach tours, a mountain bike hire service, and also Krauti's Bike Academy. Weekly guided hikes, Nordic walking or climbing courses will make your holiday not only great fun but an experience to savour and remember. One of the joys of winter is being able to walk undisturbedly to your heart's desire through the amazing peace and quiet of snowbound nature - try for yourself. More boisterous times await you tobogganing, ice skating, on the free cross-country skiing tracks, or on a guided skiing tour or snowshoe walk.
