The Pearl
The fabulous beauty of Lake Bled has for millennia attracted people’s gaze with its miraculous power. Bled (501m above sea level) with its surroundings never lost the reputation of being one of the finest alpine tourist centers and health resorts. The Triglav National Park, the only national park in Slovenia, lies in the immediate vicinity of Bled. It comprises one of the most beautiful and attractive areas of Slovenia, almost the entire Slovenian part of the Julian Alps. The territory of the National Park is very picturesque and varied. The highest mountain in Slovenia, Triglav (2864 m), after which the park was named, lies in its centre. Winter-time in Bled conjures up a kind of special, almost magic beauty. Snow-bound castle and island, encircled by miraculous winter landscape, are the images that imprint on one's memories for a lifetime. Miles of paths, covered with snow, all way round the frozen lake and a number of short or more demanding routes to the heart of the Triglav National Park invite walkers to spend their days on fresh air. Bled castle attracts visitors not only with it sage and picturesques architecture but also for the unforgettable view of the lake and the wider area of Gorenjska and the Julian Alps. In Winter Straža, the easily accessible ski-slope with artificial snow and lightening in the centre of Bled, promises good skiing throughout the season.
Soft mobility connections
Bled lies in the extreme northwestern part of Slovenia. The Lesce-Bled railway station (4 km) lies on the Villach - Jesenice - Ljubljana - Belgrade railway line. Lake Bled railway station is located (5 min walk) above the lake – 20 minutes walk to the town centre. It’s considered as the most attractive part of a historical “Transalpina Railway”.

Tourist train will take you around Lake Bled. Weather allowing, it runs every day from 10.00 to 18.00 every 45 minutes. Train schedule is available at train stops around the lake. Bled is connected with all larger towns in Slovenia by regular bus routes.
Special soft mobility services
Coachmen called “Fijaker” take you for a ride around the lake and to Bled Castle. Motor boats are not allowed on Bled lake. The best way to get to the island is by the traditional Bled special boat called “pletna”. Bled is an ideal starting place for a wide variety of winter sports. Apart from skiing, relaxing walks, skating and curling are on winter activity schedule. You can choose among indoor swimming pools with thermal water, saunas, massages, baths and fitness studios. All around like Bled well-maintained footpaths will take guests to the surroundings hills with breathtaking views.
