Want to scale the mountains? - Use the aerial tramway or one of our new electric bikes! The Predigtstuhl aerial tramway offers you a nostalgic experience that has no equal. It is the world’s oldest aerial tramway (still in its original design) and takes only eight minutes to help you reach the Reichenhaller, Bad Reichenhall’s local mountain towering over the town at 1,600 m. Nature reserve:
Berchtesgaden National Park, Biosphere Reserve

The National Park Berchtesgaden ist the only German national park within the Alpine region and part of the UNESCO-Biosphere Reserve Berchtesgadener Land and was founded in 1978. The park at the foot of the Watzmann is home to twelfe golden eagle couples, dozens of stags and deers and countless marmots.
You can explore the park either on your own or in one of the many guided tours. On selected trails you are allowed to cycle and can take part in a relaxing E-Bike tour.
The national park house and five more inforamtion spots have all the information about the fascination wildlife within the park. In May 2013 the "Haus der Berge" will open its doorrs for visitors in the neighbouring pearl Berchtesgaden.

Bad Reichenhall train station, an IC station with interurban train connection, is located in the town centre. You may, for example, use the IC "Königssee", the popular holiday train, for your relaxing arrival and departure, which keeps the environment intact (and grateful!).
