Enjoy nature, tradition and soft mobility!

The little village of Tiers am Rosengarten with its ca. 1,000 inhabitants sits at 1,020 m above sea level. It is one of the communities that you come across when you follow a grid of trails from Seiser Alm, the largest high mountain pasture of Europe, to the Rosengarten mountain range in the South Tyrolean Dolomites. The village is located at the entry pass of the huge nature reserve, Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. This location makes it the perfect place for a vacation without your car. Only 22 km from the state capital of Bozen, this winter paradise is an ideal getaway for hikers and mountaineers in the summer and snowshoe enthusiasts in the winter.

The highlights include the Bergler Tafel with typical dishes from Tiers am Rosengarten served amidst a legendary scenery or a day tour to discover the spectacular flora and fauna of the Dolomite mountains with a certified Nature Park ranger.

Nature Park Schlern-Rosengarten
The Nature Park Schlern-Rosengarten comprises nearly 7.000 hectare and is the oldest nature park in South Tyrol. The mountain masses Schlern and Rosengarten and the biggest alp in Europe, the landscape conservation area Seiser Alm, are the landmarks of the nature park. Also within the park are the Tschamin Valley and the Völser Lake.

Typical for the mountain forests encircling the Schlern are the red crossbill and the alpine willow tit. You can also find a multitude of capercaillie, woodpeckers and owls. The Dolomites are now registered in the list of UNESCO World Nature Heritage, because they are of unique and monumental beauty.

The nature park house Schlern-Rosengarten in the Tschamin valley near Tiers am Rosengarten is located in an old sawmill. The Info-Spot Völser Lake is filled with information about Fauna and Flora of the lake.
