EGTC NET

The EGTC-NET project aims to create the first sustainable network between five EGTCs based in the Interreg Italy-Austria programme area, with the goal of reducing and eliminating cross-border barriers.

Similarities and challenges faced by various EGTC organisations in Austria and Italy

Based on an analysis of the governance structures of the five EGTCs (WP2), a map will be created that highlights the similarities and challenges of the various governance models. At the same time, each EGTC will identify a specific obstacle that affects its respective area and limits its functionality (WP3) and propose possible solutions to eliminate it. To complement the work in WP2 and WP3, a joint document will be drawn up analysing the potential impact of the new proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on facilitating cross-border solutions on the functioning and further development of EGTCs (WP4). In addition, study visits will be organised to the locations of the individual EGTCs to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices for overcoming cross-border obstacles, involving students, researchers and stakeholders. Finally, a permanent working forum will be established to ensure the sustainability of the project results and to strengthen cooperation in the programme area (WP5). This network will be a permanent reference point for the exchange of experiences, best practices and innovative solutions, thus enabling the continuous deepening of cross-border and interregional cooperation.

The EGTC-NET project is co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Austria Programme 2021–2027.
