Central Mountains

The "Central Mountains" project strengthens governance structures and cooperation between the Alps and the Carpathians, including the Sudetes. Together with 10 other project partners, the EGTC Alpine Pearls is committed to improving the cross-border and sustainable development of mountain regions in Central Europe.

From the Alps to the Carpathians - Strengthening governance models for the sustainable development of mountain areas in Central Europe

The Alps and Carpathians are important natural corridors connecting many Central European countries. Unfortunately, cross-border cooperation in mountain areas often lacks a common vision. To change this, the Central Mountains project develops and implements a common strategy and regional action plans to create, among other things, cross-border functional areas. By improving governance structures, processes and procedures, the partners are sustainably improving cooperation between the Alpine-Carpathian regions.
