The two towns Nomenj and Bohinjska Bistrica are connected to the train network of Slovenia and the Jesenice - Nova Gorica line operates regularly. By only changing one time, there are numerous ways to travel within the country or to the surrounding countries. From the station you can reach the other towns of Bohinj by taxi or regular bus service.
With the Motorail you can drive environmentally friendly and stress free to Bohinj. The train runs daily along the line Bohinjska Bistrica – Podbrdo – Most na Soči [– Nova Gorica].
Public bus runs hourly from Bohinj to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. From Ljubljana, you can get to every major town in Slovenia. In summer, there are additional bus services in the local area and on the high plateau of Pokljuka, in winter there is also a ski bus. More information
Flixbus: Next stop Bled/Ljubljana, from there continue by train or bus.
By plane: We only recommend plane travel if you are coming from far away. Pickup from Ljubljana-Brnik international airport can be arranged upon request.
